t -12: race nutrition planning
Imagine standing on the start line for your next event, confident that you've done the work, your nutrition is on point and you're ready for a great day out.
But what does that look like from a nutrition perspective?
-
You're well trained, rested, relaxed, and injury-free
-
Body composition is optimised for your event
-
You're optimally fueled and hydrated, with no gut issues
-
You have a plan for your race nutrition that's been practiced (carbs | fluids | sodium)
-
You have gear prepared and packed that's been practised successfully in training
-
You have a plan for the aid stations or checkpoints, and (if applicable) your crew know what to do and when
-
Any drop bags are on their way to the correct locations
-
Your gut is prepared for the job it has to do during the event
-
You have a Plan B, and know what to do if disaster strikes (gut problems, cramping, flavour fatigue, etc.)
T -12 is the concept that runners, cyclists and triathletes need 12 weeks to prepare for their event from a nutrition perspective.
And just like the podcast series, from 2025 you'll be able to follow a series of steps over 12 weeks, to prepare for your next event.
T -12 is a self-guided course, to be completed in the final 12 weeks leading into your event.
At the start of each week, you'll receive an email explaining the focus for the week and the tasks that need to be completed to prepare for your event. This could include doing some background research about the race venue and your accomodation, experimenting with new products or equipment during training, collecting data about sweat rate, or undertaking a period of gut training to get you race-ready.
Each activity will be accompanied by online resources to assist you in your journey, from fluid and sodium calculators, to a nutrition product planner, and much more.
when does the course start?
Because everyone is doing different events, the course doesn't start on a particular date. You will want to register more than 12 weeks prior to your event though, so everything is ready to go when the calendar hits T -12.
The course will become available to register for in the first half of 2025. If you want to be notified when it's ready, click the button below to register your interest. The final cost of the program has not been finalised yet, but will be significantly cheaper than a one-on-one consult with a specialist sports dietitian.
NOTE: Those that register their interest prior to 31st Jan 2025 will receive a 40% discount on the cost of the course.
